Gary Ministries

The Johansen Sisters
We are out of northern Nebraska and love to sing traditional country music and country gospel. People tell us they love our rich, solid country sound and our “childish antics” on stage. We have won awards for our harmony and song writing abilities, and our desire is to use these gifts and talents for the glory of God. “Our mission is to sing for Him so others might experience His compassion through music and the sharing of our lives.”

The Daae Family
The Daae Family (Pronounced "Doe") This family group has been singing gospel music since 1989. The group consists of 8 members. Parents Wayne and Cathy, Daniel and Lauren, Michael and Shannon, Amanda and Crystal. Since 2002 this family group has logged thousands of miles traveling and singing for Jesus. They travel fulltime, but when they are not traveling home is in South eastern Saskatchewan Canada, about 12 miles from the USA border. Currently they are working on a bus which they purchased in July 2004, to use in their travels. Each member of this family accepted Jesus into their lives at a young age and are so happy to be able to serve Him in this way. They plan to continue singing for as long as they can. Music is an amazing tool that helps to open the heart to everything God has for each one of us. Please pray for them as they travel and sing for Jesus.

The Baptist Boys
The Baptist Boys, usually a four member group, have been singing and playing together for a number of years.

They began with Jim Booth and David Rust from the Baptist Church in Tioga, ND. The group now includes Jon Wisthoff and Larry Nelson of Berthold and Burlington. Both Jim and David play acoustic guitars, Jon plays a mandolin and Larry the bass guitar.

They mainly sing classic gospel songs emphasizing the message of Jesus Christ. The Baptist Boys have performed for church groups, community events and a few gospel festivals including Frozen Fingers, Cross Ranch, and the Hills and Plains Country Gospel Fest at the International Peace Gardens.

The Ost Family
The Ost Family has been singing together for many years with father Gilbert leading the family on acoustic guitar and harmonica. Joining him on bass guitar is son Cary; daughter Linda on keyboard, along with her husband, Mike Eslinger, who plays acoustic and bass guitar. Daughter Joette Hollar, joins them on the tambourine as they put their voices together in family-style harmony.

Growing up on the family farm north of Beulah, ND, they spent any idle time they had singing good old fashioned, country-gospel music, which is what they still enjoy today.

For more information call Gilbert (701-873-4640) or Linda (701-873-5695).

Christi Karges
Christi grew up on a farm/ranch near Hannover, North Dakota. She began studying violin at the age of 8 and piano by age 11. Music has been a part of her family for many years and she received much support for her musical endeavors from her parents and grandparents. This led to a degree in music from Minot State University where she majored in violin and piano. She was a member of the University String Ensemble, the Minot Symphony Orchestra and winner of the senior honors Auditions during her 4 years at MSU; as well as being a member of the University concert choir and Opera scenes class.

Since college, Christi has taught private music lessons, free-lanced as an accompanist and violinist and traveled to Africa, England, Brazil and Alaska on various mission and volunteer excursions. She has maintained a connection with her family’s farm in ND and is always willing to do chores, ride horseback, or work cows as the need arises. These rural roots have greatly encouraged her interest in fiddle tunes, blue-grass and folk music.

Currently Christi is a violinist with the Bismarck Mandan Symphony and the Missouri Valley Chamber Orchestra. She also teaches private music lessons in Hazen and Bismarck. She is active in the local community musical theatre, church worship team and the occasional jam session. At present, Christi lives on a farmstead 4 miles North of Hazen where she enjoys hobby farming alongside of her musical employment.

Seibel Family Singers
The Seibel family singers originate from the Harvey, North Dakota area. The Seibel family was a large family of German immigrants of Mennonite heritage.

Our, grandpa, Ben Seibel and some of his brothers, were traveling gospel singers. We grew up singing at every family gathering. The Mercer County branch consist of the Ben Seibel, Jr. family. There are five children from this family, DeNae & Kent Reiswig, who live in Cannon Falls, Minnesota; Neil & Yvonne Seibel, Jay & Karen Seibel, Amy & Shane Haugen, and Todd & Jennifer Seibel, all of whom live in Beulah.

The singers will consist of most of these plus their children and grandchildren, as well as an aunt & uncle, Marlo & Sharon Seibel from Wahpeton, ND. We look forward to being able to spread God's good news through the gift voice and song.
